Camp Inspire

Camp Inspire will be held at beautiful Warm Springs, Georgia this year. The dates for Camp Inspire 2012 will be the week of June 18th. Camp Inspire brings boys and girls and young men and women from all over the state of Georgia for one week of training sessions to prepare for the State Special Olympics and the International Special Olympics.

In 2009, our first year for Camp Inspire, there were about 45 Olympians in attendance. Last year, Camp Inspire 2010 provided training and fellowship opportunities for 93 athletes. During the Camp Inspire week these Olympians keep busy by participating in a revolving schedule of different daily events. Boating, fishing, bocce, archery, kick ball, soccer drills, drumming, football passing, and other events keep the campers very active.  At Camp Inspire they learn to share living space, enjoy music, songs, and stories, and also make new friends.

Camp Inspire participants come from all over Georgia. As such, Camp Inspire is an opportunity for all Georgia Councils to come together in support of this important program. Let us as Brother Knights get the word out to our communities about Camp Inspire so that all the counties in Georgia have a chance to send Special Olympians to this week long summer camp. Only 14 counties sent Olympians last year. Let's increase the numbers for 2012 and make this wonderful program an even greater success!

The Gala will be on Saturday April 21st at the Vinings Club beginning at 6:00PM.

Surf and turf dinner. Live music. Silent auction. Wine raffle. $125 per ticket.

You may also consider sponsoring an athlete for $300.

The camp will be in Warm Springs this year during the week of June 18th.
