Coats for Kids
Sadly, there are children in Georgia who go without a coat each winter. Many low-income families use their scarce resources to meet the most basic essentials and they need help to provide this vital winter necessity.
That’s why the Knights of Columbus developed the Coats for Kids program, which allows councils the opportunity to purchase new winter coats for children at a discount and to distribute them to children in need in their local communities.
Through our Coats for Kids program, 17 Georgia councils distributed 648 coats to children in need in 2016.
How It Works:
Every Knights of Columbus council is eligible to participate in Coats for Kids. Regular weight coats can be purchased through Knights Gear at a cost of $220 per case of 12 (including shipping), or you can submit the paper form.
Light Weight Coats are Available in Georgia:
If your Council enjoys the mild winters in Central and Southern Georgia, you may consider ordering light weight coats. The cost is $310.60 per case of 24 coats (including shipping) - less than $13 per coat. Light weight coats cannot be ordered through Knights Gear. There is a special order form on our state web site with ordering and payment instructions. Get the form at LightWeightCoatsOrderForm-GA
Or, Make a Donation to Knights of Columbus Charities of Georgia:
Don’t have a good way to distribute the coats—another option is to donate to the Coats for Kids fund of Knights of Columbus Charities of Georgia. Donations will be pooled and used to buy coats that will be distributed by Catholic Charities of Georgia. Visit the Coats for Kids page at the Knights of Columbus Charities of Georgia web site; KCCG-coats-for-kids. You can donate online.
It is time to take Action!
