The Knights of Columbus Charities of Georgia, Inc. Board is represented by seven leaders with various professional backgrounds.  All are committed to Charity, all work to encourage support from our Georgia membership of over 18,000 knights, private businesses, corporations and individual donors.  Please take a few minutes and look at their following bio’s.  You may know one or more of them.  You may want to contact one to renew an acquaintance or simply to make a donation.  In any event, all board members would welcome your emails and be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Ed O’Connor

President, Knights of Columbus Charities of Georgia, Inc.

Ed has been a member of the Knights of Columbus since 2006; he is Past Grand Knight for Council 12862 Newnan, GA. He is the current District Deputy for District 19 covering five councils in Coweta and Fayette Counties. He has also served the state council as past Church Director and Chairman of the RSVP program.  The RSVP program coordinates both financial and moral support for young men and woman in formation for religious life.  He is also the Charter Purser for his Fourth Degree assembly 3199.
Ed is employed by Delta Airlines as a Sr. Coordinator for Repair Engines.
He resides in Sharpsburg, GA with his wife Fran; they have 3 children and a grandson and granddaughter.

Mark Hofmann

State Deputy, Knights of Columbus of Georgia. 

Mark attended Seminole Community College where he majored in Communications.  In the early ‘90s, Mark was hired as Regional Manager by People’s Telephone, the world’s largest payphone company; he was transferred from Orlando to Atlanta in the fall of 1993. In 1996, they founded Starfire Automatic Gates & Security; their successful fabrication, gate automation, security and access control “family owned & operated” business.  They have earned the “Award of Excellence” from Chamberlain Professional Products as top vendor for the last seven years.
Mark married his wife Mickie in 1989; they have two grown sons, Chris and GW – both graduates of Florida State University and managers with the family business.
In the Knights of  Columbus, Mark has held positions as Grand Knight, District Deputy and currently is the State Deputy. While Mark was Grand Knight of Council 12984 for two years, his council earned the coveted Star Council award under his leadership. He is now a proud and faithful Charter 4th degree member of the Larry Deraney Assembly 3064, served as Charter Faithful Navigator, Admiral, Color Corps member and currently serves the elective office of Purser.

T.J. Mc Caustland

State Secretary, Knights of Columbus of Georgia

 T.J. Mc Caustland was married out of his league in 1999 to the Lovely and Beautiful Sherri. They are the proud parents of two Sir Knights, one an Eagle Scout and one the proud father of Skyler Arya and Oliver Todd.
Sherri has supported T.J. in his journey through the Knights of Columbus.  T.J. is currently State Treasurer, District Marshall, and treasurer of Council 11340 in Covington, Georgia.  T.J. has held the offices of State Advocate, State Warden, District Deputy (All Star), Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator, and multiple other council and assembly offices.  T.J. is also a member of the Georgia 4th Degree Team.
T.J. has been with Stericycle for over 21 years and has been involved with the pharmaceutical, medical, hazardous materials, and waste business units.  T.J has been involved with business line innovation and currently permits facility in the southeastern United States.  T.J. works with governments at all levels and assists the regulated sectors of multiple industries.
T.J. and Sherri reside in Covington where the county Special Olympics parade is sponsored by the local Knights of Columbus Council-Virgin Mary Council 11340.

Ron Rigby

State Executive Secretary, Knights of Columbus of Georgia.

Ron and his wife for over 40 years, Patricia, live in Conyers and are members of St. Pius X Catholic Church and avid supporters of The Monastery of the Holy Spirit. Joining the Knights in 1989 he is a charter member of Council #10004 and Assembly #3085 having served in all positions. Ron has served the State as District Deputy, State Raffle Chairman, State Membership Chairman, and was appointed State Executive Secretary in 2008. He is a member of the Council First Degree Team, the District Second Degree Team, and was certified in four positions on the old State Third Degree Team.
Ron graduated from SUNY at Alfred in 1972 with a degree in Business Administration and also attended a semester of college in Bogota, Columbia, S.A. in 1967 as an exchange student. Ron had two distinctly different careers, spending 12 years in the fast food business; as a restaurant manager, District Manager for eight restaurants, project manager for 29 restaurants, and Region Maintenance Manager for 105 restaurants in the Southeast. He then spent 22 years in the cabinet industry retiring from Masco in 2009 where his duties included builder sales, Sales Manager for the Atlanta Merrilat Distribution Center, and Business Development Manager for the Masco Builder Cabinet Group in parts of six Southeastern states.

Charles Stappenbeck

Vice-President, Knights of Columbus Charities of Georgia, Inc.

Charles Stappenbeck is a member of Council 631 and Assembly 173 in Savannah, GA.  A graduate of Villanova University, he has spent his entire professional career in higher education, most recently as a consultant to several colleges and universities.  Along with his wife Carla and their three children, Charles belongs to Saint James the Less Catholic Church where he also serves on the school board.  
In addition to his involvement with the Knights of Columbus, Charles is a member of several other Catholic and Irish organizations in his diocese.

Kenneth Weber 

Secretary, Knights of Columbus Charities of Georgia, Inc.

After a career as an executive in the Information Technology industry Ken, and his wife Peggy, settled in Greensboro, GA where they are active members of Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church.  Ken served two terms as Grand Knight of the Pope John Paul II Council 13808, Greensboro, GA earning the Double Star Council award both terms. He also served as Faithful Navigator of the St. Maximilian Kolbe Assembly 3085, Conyers, earning the Star Assembly award.  He currently serves at Charter Faithful Navigator of the Fr. Vincent Capodanno Assembly 3799 in Greensboro. 
For the Georgia State Council, Ken served two years as Coats for Kids Chairman.  During his term, the knights of the state of Georgia provided more than 6,000 warm winter coats to kids in need.  Ken has completed his first year as District Deputy, earning the Star District award and the William T. Jordan, Jr. Memorial Award as Outstanding District Deputy of the Atlanta Archdiocese.
Ken and Peggy recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.  Their family includes two daughters, two sons-in-law, four grandchildren, and one standard poodle – Jack.  Ken is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He has earned a BS degree from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati.
