Knights of Columbus
 Georgia State Council

Brother Knights, family members, and friends of the Georgia State Council,

Welcome to the history page of our state website. The Georgia State Council was established in 1902. In 2015, our State Deputy, Mark McMullen, asked me to take on the duties of State Historian and State Deputy Mark Corrigan asked me to continue that effort during his administration. I do so with several goals in mind, those being the capture of our current history, organization and protection of any historical materials in our possession, research into our history, and making our story available to all. We have a lot of work to do in that regard.

As time permits, I will research topics relating to our history in Georgia and present my findings on this page, in our state newsletter, and during meetings. Some of the topics I hope to cover are the biographies of our State Deputies, District Masters, and State Chaplains, our support of the military especially that during World Wars I and II, the history of Knights of Columbus homes in Georgia, and other topics that illustrate our evolution from humble beginnings to that of leading jurisdictions in the Order.

This is a big job. One that I hope you agree is important. One that cannot be accomplished by a single Knight working alone. Therefore, I invite anyone that wants to contribute to this effort, no matter how large or small, to contact me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to discuss your ideas. I am seeking researchers, writers, and collectors to collaborate with me in the effort. In other words, I am looking for Knights of Columbus that believe in and love the Order, to help tell our story so others may learn from it. I look forward to hearing from you.
